Is this the future of the books?

In our days we are becoming a society that is more virtual than real and everything that is around us means technology.
Designer Kyle Bean has created a design to show the world that the technology and the Internet are having an impact “in the way we source information”.

Going to libraries and reading books has become a rare situaton. We prefer to find the information on the Internet.

“Books also have personality - they have textures and smells which the internet can’t offer”.

To illustrate this issue he transformed a book into a laptop. The book was purchased at a discount bookstore for only £1.50, and he added some electrical components to light up the screen.

The laptop-book / book-laptop has even a CD-ROM drive complete with CD and a keyboard.

The book when is closed looks like a regular book and when opened like a laptop. The words “The Future of Books” is inscribed on the spine.

It looks like an ambitious project and I think in the future the paper books will die and the electronic books will replace them :( .

Or am I wrong?

I like the back thought on this one. I still personally love books, even for my computer related items. Especially my 2600!

BTW, Ever since I found this site I had to subscribe to the RSS feed, love seeing all the new things you post. But, there is no title on the RSS feed. Can you put your website name in there? It comes up as […] in netvibes and looks really bad. Thanks, cant wait to see your next find!
