Connect all your furniture together

Endoskeletons is a project designed by Alon Meron where all the furniture in a room is connected together. The project aims to offer an internal skeleton to the furniture, rearranging elements of the living space around a frame.

Words from the designer:

“Comfort and containment are linked in our minds and our houses show that; they are shells and our daily life is arranged inside their rigid structure, flowing from one room to the other. When you move into a new house you put your things in their place and in doing so you draw the map by which you will live.

I have applied the structural principle of a skeleton to the domestic environment. The space is now drawn around the function rather than containing it. Different elements of the house can now be coupled; I can have my library in the toilet and my lounge outside. The living house becomes an extension of my limbs rather than a series of containers for my life. ”

I like this concept but probably looks nicer with very thin connections instead of the wood which was used in the demonstration. Maybe we will have the possibility to carry our furniture as a whole piece as we want.

I think this idea is more of a student showcase rather than a idea that could sell. A lot of dead weight for it’s functionality. But very creative.

WTF???? This has to be one of the dumbest and ugliest ‘design’ ideas i have ever seen. how do you electrify the tv and lamp for one thing? I can imagine someone tripping over this stupid contraption and suing the owner - what a waste of lumber.
