In the near future, some parts of Beijing city center will look like a deep forest rather than a crowded metropolis because an international architecture competition decided on a new environmentally change to the city.
After the Olympics, the pavements will look like a forest floor from permeable materials, solar panels will generate electricity and water will be reused.
Part of the design will be some quality parks, plazas and gardens to be reintroduced into an area that is mainly built from concrete.
This project sounds impressive because it will introduce a more organic feel the very modern city center. I am waiting to see how will the city look after the “redesign” .
