Save water with Eco Bath

The project Eco Bath designed by Jang WooSeok, it’s a water saving system that uses 50% reused water and 50% fresh water for toilet flushing.

The innovative system accumulates the water used to wash your hands to clean the toilet. You are not just helping in sustaining the environment, but you are conserving water in everyday life.

Great bath but I am sure that it will be quite expensive. Maybe more appropiate is a system that everybody could mount on their own bathroom to save water in the same way.

Brilliant design. The only problem is that things get tricky if your kids throw a party and somebody vomits in the sink…

Clever, and the used soap from the handwashing would help sanitize/clean the toilet too. Damn… such a simple idea and it beats the hell out of those low-flo toilets that you have to flush like 3X to get the turd to go down the hole! Brilliant!

Question. Will the excess of beard trimmings, mucus, dirt from your hands, or whatever else ends up in bathroom sinks result in regular cleaning of the inside of the toilet? Will it interfere with the parts inside? Seems as though I’ve never had to do that before. Make a test model, with an addition the uses the water drained from your shower and pumps it through your sink faucet.

Looks like a fancy prison toilet. Actually, this is something that’s been done in Asia for a while, I believe.

@timistheword , I think if you search, you can find this in Asia. In Japan for example are a lot of innovative gadgets ;)

@TomHanks, I would not want used shower water coming out of my sink… you want to brush your teeth with that? Gross.. Not to mention I know several people that have admitted to regularly peeing in the shower! Sounds like a nice “dental supplement”.

it would be brilliant if you buffered the used water. Now the used water just flusses away down the toilet.

This is definitely common in Japan. Probably other parts of asia. and there’s no fancy schmancy piping. It’s just a faucet in the back of a toilet which a hole that leads to the toilet tank. I’ve always wondered why it was nowhere in the U.S.

I love the idea and I have also seen it used in Asia. I wish it would take off here in the US, but until water hits the price of gold I don’t think we will see many people switching.

The shower should drain into the toilet reservoir as well
