You will buy more prepackaged food. Some will have built-in chemical heating-cooling units. Just twist a knob and cook or chill foods right in the package! In restaurants, individual precooked dinners, preserved by irradiation, will be heated electronically in a few seconds.
Fringe parking lots will feature the city of 1975. There you’ll board moving conveyors, stepping from slow to medium to fast belts, for trip underground to shopping and business centers. Similar conveyors will serve airports, rail and bus depots, sports stadia.

Kitchens will be space-saving, highly automatic. Here’s one prefabricated as a single wall with a battery of automatic appliances. Refrigerator, cooking units, incinerator appear, disappear at touch of button. Dial-controlled faucets serve water at any temperature.

Injected while living with hormones, radioactive elements and other “shots,” lumber cut in 1975 will already be seasoned, fireresistant, even tinted for decorative use.  And new fertilizing techniques will assure abundant food, with larger plants and produce.

Magic high-frequency beams will brighten life in 1975. Wave your hand and a dark room will be flooded with light. Wave it again and a light-control panel will drench room with color of your choice! When it rains, an electric eye will be automatically shut your windows.

The automobile of 1975! If it seems driver is not paying attention to the road, he isn’t. Electronic guidance and obstacle-warning devices will keep car under control as it flashes at ultrahigh speeds over superhighways. Cars will be lower, larger, probably atomic-powered.

Spaciousness and flexibility will keynote homes. Walls between living, dining rooms, kitchens will be eliminated,creating huge living spaces. Bedroom walls will be movable, making room rearrangement easy. Terraces and glass walls will stress indoor-outdoor living.

Jetliners will cross Atlantic in 3 hours at 1200 miles an hour, “flying saucers” will link cities, helicopters will whisk Dad to work – from commuter areas much farther from cities than today. Note home swimming pool – it will be as common as automobiles in 1975.

Supermarket, 1975, will be doorless, wall-less! Outside and inside will be separated only by a curtain of air – cool in summer, warm in winter – flowing through vents in ceiling and floor. You mereley step through it. Checkout delays vanish – electronic computers figure bills.
