Recently I wrote an article asking my readers if they would live in an Earth House, and the success was huge, all of them liked the idea. So today I will show you more brilliant ideas of houses made from earth from around the world.

Earthships are ecological houses build mostly from old tires or other recycled waste, built on the earth for the purpose of living “off the grid.”

They are using solar and geothermal energy which allows the home to be heated without gas. What is amazing is that many people who live in earthships say they pay anywhere from $0 to $100 per year for utilities. It even recycles rain water.

When is winter outside, the sun’s low rays hits the tire wall and the heat slowly permeates throughout the house.

Electricity needs can be generated from the installed solar panels.

Earth House is a project from a swiss architect whos aim is not to live under or in the ground, but with it!

The Earth House is a very flexible construction which can be built according to the wishes of its owners, being environmentally friendly construction, energy saving and it’s using the surroundings as an advantage. The house is shaped in order to preserve the natural environment.

Although they are build from earth the houses features the latest interior finishing like modern kitchens, bathrooms and house-control systems.

I really like this idea because it is eco friendly and doesn’t harm the environment when it is built. We should think more of using old techniques of contruction because sometimes they are the best.

And YES, I would live in a house like this .

What is special about this lamp? It’s that is made from completely recyclable materials and using an energy saving compact flourescent light bulb to recreate a lamp shade.

This chair was made by the Portuguese designer Alessandro Bêda and is called the “Untitled Chair“. What is interesting about this is that features 100 gas shock absorbers that enable the chair to adjust to pressure and change its shape to accommodate the person or object placed on it.

I think this chair will need some safety mechanism because you can easily get hurt if you do not seat in the right position.
