Designed by an Israeli designer Ira Rozhavsky from old crushed glass coated with silicone and decorated with a lot of LEDs throughout its contour, the lamp “Fragile” makes your floor a piece of art.

This lamp was made from a replica of the designer’s brain which was scanned with a MR scan at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm.

Then the brain image was processed with a 3D-printer, and became the central piece of the lamp.

Paul Cocksedge is he brain behind this idea. The principle is simple: light travels along an acrylic rod from the source in the concrete base and follows the bended plastic before emerging as a light beam.

This elegant lamp changes the perception that light travels in a straight line. It provides ambient light as well as a focussed, directional beam.

The lamp is very simple regarding materials of construction , not something fancy but is very eye catching!

Pole (that is it’s name) is available as a floor light or table lamp.

“I wanted to create the illusion of bending light on an everyday scale. In order to achieve this I needed
to send rays of light on a journey of internal reflection,” explains Paul Cocksedge.

Holmegaard Glassworks of Denmark is one of the oldest glass art factories in the world. In the past it was making fine glass for the Danish Queen and today the Holmegaard tradition continues involving some of Denmark’s best known artists.

One of their recent creations is One table lamp by designer Maria Berntsen which comes in opal white or clear.
