Facebook offices

Studio o+a was responsible for redesigning Facebook’s new 150,000-square-foot office at Palo Alto, California, USA. The employees were consulted to find their expectations and each department was designed in a different way

“Just as people make the space on the website their own, we’ve opted to do the same with our physical space. We’ve left a lot of the walls white and the spaces unfinished to encourage employees to add the finishing touches.” (Facebook employee Everett Katigbak)

I can say that O+A did avery good job and I am sure that every reader will love to work in an office like this ( except maybe the readers who are working for Google… )

Office in the nature

We all are used working in big buildings full with little desks with people, in the middle of the city. A lot of pollution, many times a lot of noise, and not a very good view from your window, if you have one!

What do you think about moving your office right in the heart of the nature? Green trees, an amazng view, maybe you even have the chance sometimes to see wild animals from your office window.

I think it is a gread idea to move the offices in a forest for example or maybe near a river, because people will work harder, will be more relaxed and will concetrate better. They will feel happy.

I don’t know anything about the company that is using this office or where is situated because I got the pictures on the email.

If somebody knows more details please share them with us. Until then, enjoy the spectacular pictures and wish you will work someday in an office like this.

Most people in the red zones of swine flu decided to wear protection masks. But if you want fresher air you must use an USB powered mask. The mask is made from silicon and is very comfortable it has fans on either side which draw in fresh air and purify it for breathing.

However the mask must be connected to your PC and the will certainly make you look a little weird will this Hannibal Lector looking and th two fans making noise.

You can use the mask just at your office because it uses energy from your computer via USB

But we must do anything to protect our health right? You can buy this gadget from here

Architecture imitates nature: Cactus Building

The designers and architects at Bangkok-based Aesthetics Architects, have come up with a new office idea for the Ministery of Municipal Affairs & Agriculture (MMAA) in Qatar. The idea imitates nature, a cactus to be more precise.

After the construction it will be the largest concrete cactus structure in the world. They chosed this shape keeping in mind the hot and arid conditions of the region.

The edifice sports sun shades on its windows that open and close according to the buildings heating and cooling needs, much like the pores of the desert cactus.

The building looks amazing and really looks like a giant cactus. When are we going to see a mushroom building?

Called ‘Sensory Lamp’ and designed by Sara Rossbach this mouse pad - lamp wants to create a closer connection between our work environments with nature for better workdays.

By slowly modifieing the color and intensity throughout the day the lamp mimics natural light cycles and with the grass that grows from the base of the lamp will create a friendly working environment.
